This is a family of complete microstepping drivers with built-in translator suitable for driving bipolar
and unipolar step motors up to
2.5A and 30V.
They operate in
- Full-
- Half-
- Quarter-
- Eighth- (BSD-02) or
- Sixteenth- (BSD-02LH)
step modes without requiring any phase-sequence tables, high frequency control lines or complex interfaces to program.
The BSD-02
features additional Eight Discrete Schottky Diodes, not found very often on
competitor's drivers, as these diodes are costly to implement.
The BSD-02LH does not features Schottky Diodes but in return it
offers Synchronous Rectification and lower Rds(on) of MOSFET h-bridge.
Despite the difference, both drivers will run successfully any step motor up to
2.5A dissipating almost the same amount of heat (under the same conditions)
through a large heat sink.
Feel free to choose
either driver based solely on microstepping resolution needed for your
application and forget about other differences as from user's point of view they
both work the same way.
